SASSA Takes Services to Fernie Local Community
Tuesday, August 27, 2024
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.
SASSA will be rendering services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency explained it is actually alarmed in regards to the large range of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a large range of more info clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The assistance position designed for intervention experiences a high inflow of possible beneficiaries, that makes it tough with the office to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more resources to help the servicing of all shoppers and enhance entry to Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
